This scholarship aims to recognize outstanding senior high school students who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, even in the face of personal or academic hurdles, as they work towards achieving positive academic outcomes. It is designed to support those who are committed to advancing their education beyond high school, whether through college, technical programs, or professional schools.
Criteria for Applicants:
1. Membership: Applicants must be active members of one of our AFC Churches in good standing.
2. Grade Level: Applicants must be currently enrolled as seniors in high school, whether in traditional school settings or virtual programs.
3. Application Submission: Applicants must complete and submit the entire application form along with an essay.
4. Leadership Qualities: Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities in their home, church, school, or community.
5. Educational Pursuits: Applicants must have intentions to pursue further education, whether in college, technical school, or trade/professional programs.
Requirements for Consideration:
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must submit a concise essay of 400 to 500 words. The essay should address the following prompts:
1. Inspiration: What motivates and inspires you as a student?
2. Future Goals: Outline your future aspirations and plans.
3. Overcoming Challenges: Describe any personal challenges you have faced and how you overcame them. Also, provide advice for individuals experiencing similar situations.
4. Leadership Definition: Define what leadership means to you and provide examples of how you demonstrate leadership within your church, school, and/or community.
5. Scholarship Impact: Explain how receiving this scholarship would enhance your ability to achieve your future goals or plans.
Application & Essay Submission Deadline:
All applications and essays must be submitted by May 31st, 2024.
